Emmaville Rifle Range

The Glen Innes Branch of the Sporting Shooters Association was formed in 2009, due to the efforts of a small group of shooting enthusiasts who wanted to promote and enjoy the various disciplines that are covered by the SSAA banner.

Our shooting activities are carried out at the Emmaville Rifle Range Complex, made up of four member clubs.

Facilities:

300m Centrefire rifle range
100m Rimfire rifle range
50m Pistol range with covered targets
Enclosed firing points
Powered sheds
Disabled access toilets and shower

Northern Tablelands

SSAA Goulburn is committed to providing a quality venue for sporting shooters and people who are interested in the sport of target shooting. The facilities at the range include a covered firing point and bench area, club house, range (currently restricted to distance of 100m) and a new disability friendly toilet.

Centrefire cartridges such as 223, 243, 6.5CR, 270, 308, 30-06 and all rifle magnums are not currently allowed.

Permitted firearms:
Air rifles up to .22LR
Muzzleloading Rifles
Centrefire rifles under 1500FPS shooting cast lead projectiles.

Southern Highlands regional shooting complex

The Illawarra Regional Shooting Association (IRSA) is a local Illawarra based
association and one of several resident clubs that enjoy the hospitality of the Southern
Highlands Regional Shooting Complex (SHRSC) at Hill Top.

Ranges and Facilities

800 meter range:
The IRSA uses the 800 meter range for Long Range Precision Rifle competitions.

Starting at 200m, then 400m and finally 800m. Some Long Range Service rifle events are also held at the 500m distance of the 800m.

500 meter range

All other rifle disciplines apart from Precision Rifle are held on the 500m range. The 500m range has 60 shooting positions at distances of 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 385 & 500m.

50 meter range

The 50m pistol range is divided into five separate ranges, four of these ranges have pneumatic turning targets on rails and can be moved to different distances with ease.

All three ranges have a Range officers office and toilet facilities.

At this stage the SHRSC is only open on the weekends from 10.00am – 5.00pm. For more info please visit the Southern Highlands Regional Shooting Complex website.

mudgee

Windamere regional shooting complex

Windamere Regional Shooting Complex is a range facility located opposite Windamere Dam outside of Mudgee, NSW.

Range 1

Range 1 allows shooting out to a distance of 400m, and is templated to allow for the use of both paper and steel targets.

Range 2

This 1000m range hosts Combined Services Rifle and Pistol events. It features a full complement of sheltered benches, basic kitchen amenities as well as an ablutions block with shower facilities.

Cudgegong Range

This dedicated Pistol range is a 50m soft target range right next door to Range 2. Mudgee Pistol Club and the local SSAA Pistol Club shoot here.

Shotgun Range

WRSC has its own dedicated shotgun range, home to Mudgee Sporting Clays as well as the local SSAA branch shotgun club who shoot 5 Stand here.

Silhouette Range

The silhouette range is a 500m hard template range with a full complement of steel silhouette targets set out 5 distances. This range is also approved for high calibre pistols.

ssaa northern rivers

The Northern Rivers Branch is one of NSW’s largest branches by membership, with nearly 2,000 members. 

Located in the township of Casino, the rifle facilities consist of a covered firing line with 12 concrete benches, 15 standing post positions and ranges at 25m, 50m, 100yds, 100m, 200m and 300m.
 
For pistol shooters, the Purcell Range features a covered firing line with 12 firing positions and range out to 50 yards.
 
Wheelchair access is available.

tumut

ssaa tumut

SSAA Tumut Branch is a range facility located on Snowy Mountains Highway just outside of Tumut.

The range features a covered 100m firing point, as well as uncovered firing points out to 1000 yards onto targets which can be manned by a protected butts mound crew. Targets can be shot from all shooting positions, not just off the bench.

This complex has an effective calibre limitation of up to 8mm. The range features basic kitchen facilities, toilets and clubhouse area.
